Gautam Ijoor, CEO, “Our goal by 2030 is to be the #1 IT solutions provider for the U.S. DHS and DOS”

July 11, 2022

Every great entrepreneur has their own motivation for building an empire.

  • Steve Jobs sought to democratize computer technology
  • Estée Lauder believed every woman could look and feel beautiful
  • Ray Kroc dreamt of process uniformity for a superior dining experience

Me?  I simply wanted to express my profound gratitude to the country which had given me so much.

Gratitude- Alpha Omega’s Secret Sauce

To understand how GRATITUDE drove Alpha Omega’s founding, let’s travel back nearly 30 years – to my first day in the United States.

I arrived for my graduate program with a dream, a huge tuition bill, and no job.  Sounds like a recipe for a bumpy semester, right? Disoriented and without any resources, I was justifiably nervous. However, I was also optimistic; for years, I had heard about the ‘American Dream’.

Unbelievably, the very next day, I secured a full assistantship to cover the entire cost of my graduate program.  I understand this is the land of dreams, but no one said they could come true in less than 48 hours!

That experience was far from unique. Since that day, this great nation has been a gift that has never stopped giving to me.

America is a superpower, not just as a result of its military clout, but rather because it promises (and delivers!) opportunities for hardworking men and women to achieve greatness.

For that, I am thankful.

Gratitude has driven me to find a way to give back something of unparalleled value. Alpha Omega Integration IS my Thank You Card to Lady Liberty.

I am a better man, a better husband and father, a better friend and businessperson because of all that this great nation has given to me.

I have dedicated my company’s energies towards supporting the nation that gave me so much.

Thus, our mission is to ‘Enable the U.S. Government to be the best in the world with our mission-focused solutions.’

Turning Gratitude into Action

Even the most gracious visionary leader can make little progress without a strong team to execute on the mission.

We strive to foster a culture in which employees are passionate about making their customer successful.  An emphasis is placed on determining what success means to each customer.

Naturally, as a proven systems integrator, it would be easy to dazzle customers with the coolest, new technological innovations – but is that really adding value?   Rather than showing off abilities, our team uses technology as an enabler of our customer’s mission.

Our approach to each customer engagement is to reflect upon these questions:

First and most importantly, ‘What is the mission of the agency – what are they trying to accomplish?’

Then, ‘what value, solutions, and innovations can we provide to help our customer achieve their mission?”

They say, ‘if the only tool you have is a hammer, you treat every problem as a nail.’

Alpha Omega’s deep, technological skill set allows us to identify the problem first – what is needed – and then we can dazzle customers with innovative solutions.

Thus, Alpha Omega’s vision and our Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG, nod to Jim Collins) is by 2030, to become the #1 IT solutions provider for the U.S. DHS and DOS and secure a $1 billion dollar per year market value!

Although we anticipate growing our footprint within other agencies and thereby promoting our technical and business capabilities, we have honed in on two agencies in particular – the DOS and DHS.

Wait, why the narrow focus on these two agencies?

Simple.  Our shared goals.

The missions of DHS & DOS are central to Alpha Omega’s mission which is to enable the US Government to be the best in the world.

Our north star, our BHAG, will guide our next steps.  We will continue to build out our skill sets and align our technological innovations to best promote the mission of DHS & DOS.  We appreciate the opportunity to be a partner in your endeavors.

My entrepreneurial story may not be too different from many others. However, it is mine, and it has provided a means to turn my gratitude into action.

Thank you for allowing me to tell it.
